Complete the Square — Worksheet Generator

Printable A4 worksheets from the Complete the Square teaching tool. The scaffold fades across the page: an area model to label, then the two blanks, then writing an expression in completed square form, then solving an equation with it, then using it. Answers stay exact — surds are never turned into decimals. Worksheet language prints every instruction bilingually for EAL/D students; the algebra stays Western and LTR.

The paper

Level chooses the numbers, not the sections — a Sweet paper still meets every question type, and a Mixed paper climbs the ladder inside each section separately.

Sections — and how many of each

The picture is handed over in stages. Label the area model is the screen from the teaching tool with the edges and the corner missing — the negative ones are where the thinking is. Fill the two blanks is x² + bx + ☐ = (x + ☐)² and nothing else. Completed square form adds a constant to carry. Solve the equation is the whole method, with room to work and exact answers. Use it asks for turning points, smallest values and arguments.

Options

The method reminder prints the identity at the top of page one. It is off by default on purpose — the area model is meant to make the rule unnecessary. The reasoning prompt is a misconception to argue with, and it stretches into whatever space the last section leaves.
