Division by Grouping — Worksheet Generator

Printable A4 worksheets from the Division by Grouping teaching tool. The bubbles are drawn on the page, so a student shares out a chunk at a time exactly as the class did on the board — and the table beside them turns those chunks into the written method. Worksheet language prints every instruction bilingually for EAL/D students; the numerals stay Western and LTR.

The paper

Which divisors this paper may use.

Number of groups and Level work independently, so a class practising ÷ 3 alone can still meet three-digit numbers. Seven or more groups makes each bubble small — those questions print across two columns so there is still room to write in them.

Sections — and how many of each

The order is the teaching, and the picture comes off last. A is the practice: bubbles drawn, and the student picks their own chunks. B is the same thing when it will not go evenly. C gives them an empty space and asks them to draw the bubbles themselves — that is the step that shows whether the picture is theirs yet or still the page's. D asks for it in words.

Options

Everything but the bubbles is off to begin with, so the plainest paper is the default and each extra is a deliberate choice. Table beside the bubbles adds the round-by-round record — the “in each” column of that table is the written method in disguise, and it is worth turning on once a class is ready to leave the picture behind. The check sentence prints 6 × ___ = 84 under each question, so an answer can be tested rather than believed. The fewer-rounds prompt asks a student to go back and share one question out in fewer rounds; that is the whole efficiency conversation, and it is where 10 and 4 turn into 14. The answer key shows the rounds, not just the answer, so it can be handed to a student.
